UPDATE: If you’re interested in reading about the speculation on how to craft this, here is a Reddit thread, that goes over some of the details. With the current prices, it seems like this might cost almost $1000 in gems/gold. Yikes!

I have no idea how it’s crafted/forged, but I think everyone needs to check out how badass this things looks. If you’ve got other legendaries you think are awesome, share them in the commends.

Continue reading to see what may or may not be entailed to get your hands on a Twilight.

I’ve been doing some research on the legendary weapons, especially the Greatsword Twilight. There seems to be alot of inaccurate information on numerous GW2 resource websites, and I will try to clear up EXACTLY what you will need to the best of my knowledge.

As stated on numerous sites, for Greatsword Twilight, you need the following items(subject to change?):

  • Dusk of Rage (Exotic Greatsword)
  • Blood Shard/Stone? (200 skill point purchased from vendor next to Mystic Force in Lion’s Arch)
  • Gift of Metal (Level 400 Weaponsmith)
  • Gift of Darkness (Level 400 Armorsmith)

After purchasing the two Gift recipes for 10gold each, I was indeed shocked by the materials that were ACTUALLY required to make them. And this was when I found out the websites online were inacurate.

Gift of Metal:

  • 250 Orichalcum Ingot
  • 250 Darksteel Ingot
  • 250 Mithril Ingot
  • 250 Plat Ingot

That already sounds absurd, because 250 Ori Ingots cost nearly 15~20g in TP atm.
If that wasnt enough, following materials are required for
Gift of Darkness:

  • 250 Orichalcum Ingot (again)
  • 100 Onyx Lodestone
  • Gift of Ascalon
  • 250 Hardened Leather (lvl 400 material)

Ingot is indeed very pricy, but in this case… the real issue is 100 Onyx Lodestones.
In TP right now, they are nearly 89s Each. which will be near 90g just for the Onyx Lodestones for 100 of them.

Gift of Ascalon.
Originally I believed you just needed 250 Tears of Ascalon, but the Gift of Ascalon is actually obtained through the vendor in Lions Arch for 500 Tears of Ascalon.
All in all, This will be very expensive, and time consuming (if you were to farm all of these materials)
And even after getting all these items… the real problem is the Dusk of Rage…

Dusk of Rage
To my understanding, is un-craftable, and is obtainable via Mystic Forge using exotic Greatswords, (for only a chance of obtaining the sword) or Trading Post for around 60gold

The “Gifts of _____” are BOUND (need to update whether it is account or soul)

I hope this was informative.
To help the people who are striving to get a legendary weapon, It is a rough and difficult road…
Hell, the 200 skill point bloodstone seems to be the easiest… (besides the darksteel, mithril, and plat ingots)

NOTE: All of the other Legendary Weapons follow the similar formula. Exotic wep + applicable dungeon tokens + ton of mats and time… etc.

P.S. Comments were made, that there are different variable that i am yet unaware of. I will not deny this. this will be updated when new informations are gathered!
